Scoop Images: More Pictures Of Indian Rain

The above image generated by the NOAA Air Resources Laboratory’s weather supercomputer shows large quantities of rain falling in India on June 10. The area in the top left of the picture, north western India, is an area that has been suffering from severe drought.

The supercomputer is presently predicting the birth of two large weather systems on either side of the Indian isthmus over the next week. Both weather systems are forecast to come ashore around June 7th bringing rain throughout India. Heavy rain is forecast particularly to the east of Hyderabad and around Goa.

The forecasts are generally consistent with forecasts published on Scoop over the weekend. See.. Scoop Images: Rains Forecast for NW India.

In the images rainfall is shown in the coloured lines with each line showing 1mm of rain over the previous 12 hour period.
