MEDIA RELEASE 25 January 2001

SAATCHI & SAATCHI NZ CEO
TO HEAD LONDON AGENCY

James Hall, CEO of New Zealand’s leading advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi, is to take up the position of CEO Saatchi & Saatchi United Kingdom in April.

In formally announcing the appointment Peter Cullinane, New York-based Chief Operating Officer of Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, said James Hall (41) had the right mix of strategic, entrepreneurial, leadership, management and creative abilities to head the second largest agency in their network.

“This is a fantastic achievement for James and reflects equally the talents of the whole New Zealand team,” says Peter Cullinane. “New Zealand has always been a jewel in the Saatchi & Saatchi network, achieving results on a world scale far outstripping its relative size.

“It is totally appropriate that James should step up to lead the Charlotte Street office from which the network originated 30 years ago. It’s a great case of right person, right place, right time.”

Kim Wicksteed and Mike Hutcheson would continue to manage the Wellington and Auckland Saatchi & Saatchi offices respectively. Kim Thorp, previously Creative Director of Wellington, has been appointed non-executive Chairman of the agency in New Zealand. Together these three senior executives will provide national co-ordination of the agency and together with Peter Cullinane will manage the process of appointing a successor to James Hall.
