Stuffing The Census
Lucasfilm Corporation is pulling off the world's largest advertising scam with "Star Wars" receiving world wide press attention through the email call to all and sundry to stuff the national censuses of the UK, New Zealand, Canada and Australia.
Through corporately funded fan clubs, thought to be operating through online Zines in New Zealand, the call for people to write "Jedi" in the optional census question on religion has gone out world wide. The impact on the British census due on May 4 could be considerable.
Lucasfilms are creaming at the enormous amounts of unpaid advertising being given to them through national broadcasters and commercial networks. Through the media being uncritical and failing to investigate the similar nature of this email, Lucas are laughing (some more) all the way to their Swiss bankers.
