Charlotte Dawson joins Prime’s ‘Getaway’

One of New Zealand’s biggest stars Charlotte Dawson has joined Prime to present localised segments for the award winning travel program ‘Getaway’.

Getaway, Prime’s dynamic travel show produced by the Nine Network, is screened on the network every Wednesday night at 7:30pm. The program will soon include localised segments highlighting destinations around NZ and the Pacific Islands, seeking out the best deals, exotic hideaways and clever travel tips.

Charlotte Dawson returned to her native New Zealand after 20 years of living in Australia where she started her career in broadcasting. After a five-year stint with the Nine Network she moved onto other projects including print before returning to her homeland.

In taking up this new and exciting role Charlotte said, "As a long time fan of the Getaway series, this is a dream job, nobody would argue with that! I am relishing the opportunity to travel and discover more about my native country New Zealand as well as some exotic destinations of the Pacific.”

In appointing Charlotte to the role of New Zealand correspondent for Getaway, Prime CEO Chris Taylor said, “Getaway is undoubtedly the best travel show in the Southern Hemisphere. Charlotte’s vivacious personality and presenting prowess will bring these terrific local segments to life.”

Filming for the New Zealand segments of Getaway are well under way and will screen in New Zealand early September 2004.
