Hyundai drives sport and activity with Institute

The Millennium Institute of Sport & Health is driving a new future for sport in New Zealand, with Hyundai.

The Institute, based on Auckland’s North Shore, has taken delivery of six Hyundai vehicles to help its work around Auckland and nationwide.

A Tiburon coupe, two Elantra sedans and three Santa Fe SUVs will help the organisation deliver its world-class sport and fitness programmes.

“We are delighted to assist the Millennium Institute for Sport & Health which does sterling work from elite sport right down to community fitness activities,” explained the General Manager of Hyundai Automotive NZ, Philip Eustace.

“Hyundai is very active in sport worldwide and also here in New Zealand.

“The institute’s goals of New Zealand success in sport and individual wellbeing are ones which we share.”

The Millennium Institute of Sport & Health is a not-for-profit charitable trust which manages and operates a $30 million sports and community health facility on Auckland’s North Shore, on behalf of the owner the North Shore Bays Community Fitness Centre Trust.

Combining the North Shore Bays Athletic Club, North Shore Amateur Swimming Club, North Harbour Waterpolo Club and North Sport Weightlifting, the institute provides world-class facilities and services for physical activity and sporting experience and to help drive participation and excellence in sport.

“We seek to enhance both community health and international sporting achievement,” commented the institute CEO Mike Stanley, himself a former world champion rower.
