Ricky Martin: Biggest Concert Event In NZ Ever

Saturday 14 October 2000 – Auckland Ericsson Stadium

BE THERE…
FOR THE BIGGEST CONCERT EVENT NZ HAS EVER SEEN

RICKY MARTIN arrives in Auckland on Friday 13th October for his only NZ concert, and what a concert it is going to be. Listed below is an insight on what requires to happen before RICKY takes centre stage at Ericsson Stadium on Saturday 14 October.

THE TIME FRAME
 The show will take 3,000 man-hours to set-up and pull down the entire production.

THE STAGE
 It will take 5 days to build the stage and the stage roof; a NZ Production Team is preparing this.
 The roof for the stage is the largest ever-built in NZ: the size is
87 ft x 90ft and weighs 55 tonne.
 RICKY MARTIN’S production team will hang 40 tons of equipment from the roof.
 The stage is also the highest ever built here in NZ - 22 meters off the ground.

EQUIPMENT
 12ft x 40ft Containers are on their way to NZ from the States by sea.
 A DC10 full of equipment will come from Taiwan; RICKY’S last Asian concert on the 11th October.

POWER
 2 x Generators for all the 110 volt equipment generator size is 650KVA (approx)
 500 amp x 3 phase land power will be used. This would be enough
power to run a small town.
 Over 10 kilometres of cable.


THE SOUND
 128 Boxes of sound equipment & approximately 250,000 watts and a delay system of 30 speaker boxes strategically placed around the stadium.

THE SPECTACLE
 A total of 3000 individual PYROS is part of the show.
 6 x Very Large Video Screens.

THE ENTOURAGE
 A total of 95 personnel (Band, Dancers, Production, Sound, Lighting, Video Technicians and Management) travel with RICKY.
On arrival they require -
 150 x Radio Telephones on site.
 23 x Telephone Lines.
 15 x Mobile Phones.

CATERING
 RICKY’S ENTOURAGE require a temporary purpose-built kitchen in order to cater for their requirements.
 RICKY has asked that ALL left over food be donated to homeless agencies in Auckland.

THE PACK OUT
 Immediately after RICKY takes his last bow on Saturday October 14th the Production Crew swing into action to dismantle all the equipment and pack into 16 x 40ft Containers ready for the 6am departure to the Airport.
 A total of 80 tonnes of equipment is required to be loaded onto
2 x 747’s to cross the Tasman to Sydney for the start of RICKY’S Australian Tour.
