Frank Zappa Xmas Film Nite ~ Friday 15th Dec 2000

Tickets: PRESALES = $10 ON THE DOOR = $12

8pm – late. @ BEAUTIFUL MUSIC 1st Floor, 300 K'rd, Auckland City.

Ph / Fax Beautiful Music: (09) 379 0053

To mark the month that would have seen legendary avant-garde rock composer Frank Zappa's 60th birthday, and to commemorate 7 years since he died of prostrate cancer, Auckland's hardcore Zappa fans, in conjunction with the city's best modern music store, will be hosting a top-quality music film night of his works.

Featured videos will include the BRAND NEW Dutch documentary "The Present Day Composer Refuses to Die", which features top-quality unseen footage of Zappa live through out his career (including FZ playing the bicycle on the Steve Allen show in 1962), as well as interviews with Edgar Varese, Pierre Boulez, George Duke and FZ's widow Gail Zappa.

Also included will be screenings of two Frank Zappa-produced full-length feature films: Uncle Meat, (which includes material predominantly from the late 1960s Mothers of Invention period), and the live-in-NYC '77 movie Baby Snakes. Requests for rare footage will also be taken.

There are limited tickets available, and the evening will sell out. An assortment of FZ-related door prizes will also be given away. ALL ARE WELCOME. Remember: "One Size Fits All."
