Erotica Expo returns to it's roots

Erotica is going back to its roots (yes, pun intended).

Just to cause even more confusion in this already mixed up world, the team at Exotica have decided to revert back to the name "Erotica - Adult Lifestyle Expo", dropping the Exotica brand and putting the sexiness back into their show.

To help achieve this they have convinced the First Lady of Erotica herself, Ms Fiona Gibb, to rejoin the team and bring back the naughty-but-fun atmosphere that she achieved so well during the expos of 2000 and 2001.

After a year away, Fiona has already formulated plans to wow the public at large. Just as she stunned the world by announcing NZ Orgasm Day - boldly giving away 1000 vibrators in downtown Auckland - she has plans to liven up Auckland shoppers with a promotion called "4 Play Week". This will take place beginning on August 1st - a week before the next Erotica Expo, 8 - 10th August 2003. It is guaranteed to turn a dreary winter week into a cheeky, fun filled seven days!

Ms Gibb believes that New Zealanders' attitudes towards sex and the businesses that offer products and services related to sex have changed in some very positive ways since she first founded the Erotica Expo. It is wonderful to see adventurous adults enjoying programs such as "Sex In The City" and its British counterpart "Manchild", watching documentaries about adult health, sexuality and lifestyle, and attending events such as the Erotica Expo. These things open doors, allowing discussion about a once taboo subject, sex.

Ms Gibb says, "let's face it, none of us would be here if it wasn't for sex in the first place. I am so glad people are lightening up and realizing discussion also promotes education, awareness and sensibility. Ten years ago could someone like Graham Lowe go public with such an intimate subject like impotency and erectile dysfunction? I applaud his courage and know what it takes to personally put yourself out there to help knock down the walls of Victorian attitudes about a subject we all have something to do with, sex.'

Erotica, now legitimized and accepted as an ongoing high profile event, will afford Ms Gibb more time to build on the Not For Profit Section of the Expo. This essential element targets awareness and education in a variety of areas relating to sexual health, as these organizations often suffer prejudice against the nature of the causes they support.

The Erotica Expo promises to bring back all of the old fun and even more in 2003, guaranteeing a sexy, playful time for all those who pass through it's doors.
