Watch The Oscars Exclusively Live On Sky

SKY Television confirmed today that it will broadcast the 76th Annual Academy Awards® EXCLUSIVELY LIVE from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on SKY Movies 1, Monday, March 1 from 1pm.

SKY Movies 1 will begin its LIVE build-up from the Kodak Theatre at 1pm, with the Awards ceremony set to begin at 2pm.

New Zealanders have a vested interest in these Academy Awards®. Firstly, Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King has 11 nominations including Best Director and Best Picture - the most nominations for any picture this year.

Plus, Kiwi sensation, 13-year-old Keisha Castle-Hughes, is the youngest ever actor to garner a "Best Actress in a Leading Role" nomination for her stunning performance in Whale Rider.

SKY'S coverage of the event also includes E! channel's 3-hour special, Countdown to the Red Carpet, from 6am, followed by Live From the Red Carpet at 12pm.

Preceding the Academy Awards® on Monday, February 23 at 4pm are the 10th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®. The SAG Awards® are unique in that they only have 13 categories honouring the most breathtaking acting performances in both film and television.

Keisha Castle-Hughes has been nominated for "Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role", and the cast from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King has been nominated in the "Outstanding Cast Performance in a Theatrical Motion Picture " category.

The 76th Annual Academy Awards® will screen EXCLUSIVELY LIVE on SKY Movies 1, Monday, March 1 at 1pm, replaying on Saturday, March 6 at 3pm. LIVE pre and post show coverage will screen on E! with Countdown to the Red Carpet at 6am and Live From the Red Carpet at 12pm.
