Wearable Arts Come to Christchurch

Wearable Arts Come to Christchurch

62 under fives will strut their stuff this Thursday at 1.30pm at Selwyn House School.

The pre-schoolers are putting the finishing touches to their wearable works of art after spending a huge amount of time designing and creating them.

Just before the end of each term, the Selwyn House Pre-school presents a “celebration of learning” and invites parents and family to share in their achievements.

On Thursday parents and invited guests will be treated to creations inspired by this term's investigation topic , 'Beyond the shore'. The children will be transformed into seahorses, mermaids, sharks, fish and dolphins.

Both the boys and girls are very excited about the Wearable Arts presentation and are looking forward to parading down the catwalk.

Costume notes:

'Gracie is a gracious seahorse. A stunning tail has been threaded with wire to give a unique curl. '

'Harry has shown how versatile polypropylene can be, especially when combined with eight legs to create a gigantic octopus. '

'The vibrant use of spray paint, glitter and shells ensures that Amelia the mermaid makes a splash wherever she goes.'
