Scott Dixon: "I'm So Impressed"

By: Lance Hastie of www.car.co.nz

Gearing up for his second race with his new team, Kiwi Scott Dixon has much to look forward to at this weekends event at Laguna Seca.

Making his second appearance for the Target Chip Ganassi team, Scott Dixon is excited after his best result of the season in his first race.

Finishing 6th at Milwaukee, Dixon is happy with his move, realising there is good ahead. "I'm so impressed at how the car felt last week right from the start. It was so close to being race ready. We only to make a few small changes to get the car to feel comfortable. We were running in second place for a while there at the start of the race and if hadn't slid through the pit box, who knows how well we could have finished. But a sixth place finish is still pretty good for our first race as a team. I'm very excited about this weekend's race", he said.

The Laguna Seca raceway is a 2.28 mile road course and has good memories for Dixon. "Last year I qualified 3rd and finished 4th and I think that this team has the capability to do even better this year", said Dixon.

Steeped in success, the Target Chip Ganassi Team is no stranger to the podium, having assisted the team drivers to no less than 38 career victories.

This years Grand Prix of Monterey at Laguna Seca is the result of a multi-million dollar upgrade to provide the drivers with a memorable challenge.

Expecting 100,000 fans to show up to the June 7-9 extravaganza, Scott Dixon's performance is sure to improve after the confidence boost of the 'Milwaukee Mile' and his past success in Laguna Seca.
