Nice Guys Finish Last

Well-behaved National MP Murray McCully today bemoaned the spree of media attention given to Parliament's 'bad boys'.

Education Minister Trevor Mallard has been splashed across the headlines for behaving badly in class; being expelled from Parliament four times this year and forced to withdraw and apologise on 28 occasions.

"Sadly there was no recognition of the well behaved MPs, like myself, who believe in promoting harmony in the house," Mr McCully said.

Mr McCully noted that he has a spotless record this year, with no expulsions and no apologies.

"Obviously the media would rather focus on the rabble-rousers," Mr McCully said meekly.

"My New Years resolution is clear: No More Mr Nice Guy."
