WALK-OUT OVER
PROTESTORS USE OF CHILDREN
New Zealand First MPs, Rt
Hon Winston Peters and Hon Brian Donnelly, walked out of the
service at Waitangi yesterday in outrage at the use of
children as frontline troops for protestors.
“It was bad enough to have the dignity of the nation trampled on by the rabble,” said Brian Donnelly. “But then to see that the bulk of those who invaded the church service were minors was too much.”
“These are Saddam Hussein tactics and unfit for a civilised nation. We would no longer grace such boorish behaviour with our presence. Hence our walk-out,” said Mr Donnelly.
“These people insulted their elders, insulted Nga Puhi and insulted the nation.”
