Green MPs mark bike to work day
Four Green MPs will mark Bike to Work day on a crocodile bike.
Rod Donald, Jeanette Fitzsimons, Sue Kedgley and Keith Locke will ride the four-seater bike from Oriental Bay to Civic Square tomorrow (Wed 21st Feb) morning. (Nandor Tanczos is expected to accompany them on his skateboard.)
They will leave from in front of the public conveniences (at the bottom of Oriental Terrace) in Oriental Parade at 7.20am and arrive in Civic Square as soon after 7.30am.
Green MPs are known for their cycle consciousness. Rod Donald seldom drives a car. Before the last election he could be seen cycling round Christchurch with electoral placards on his bike. Cycling is also Keith Locke's favoured form of transport in Auckland.
The MPs will be accompanied by members of Cycle Aware Wellington. They will take part in the events in the Civic Square between 7.30am and 8.00am.
The crocodile bike is one of a fleet hired out on Wellington's waterfront by the Enormous Crocodile Company.
