Bradford To Join Locked Out Cleaners On Picket
Green Party Employment Spokesperson Sue Bradford will today show her support for more than 100 locked out cleaners at Capital Coast Health by joining them on the picket line.
The workers are under pressure to give up the job protection clauses in their contracts and, given that three different contractors have operated the cleaning services at CCH over the last five years, the protection clauses are the only security the workers have, said Ms Bradford.
"These workers are not paid a lot of money but they work hard and their jobs are important to the workers and their families. I will be joining them in their protest for a fair deal and for the prerservation of their job security," she said.
Ms Bradford will be at the picket at the main entrance to Wellington Hospital on Riddiford Street at 11.15am.
