Anderton pays tribute to Bradman
Deputy Prime Minister Jim Anderton is saddened by the death of Sir Donald Bradman.
Jim Anderton has been a committed cricket fan since his youth, and he says Sir Donald was a role model for young players.
"His test average alone proves that Sir Donald was the greatest batsman that ever lived.
"But he also lived in retirement with great dignity.
"Many Australians have today commented that Sir Donald was one of the greatest athletes of all time in any sport. It is a tribute to cricket that it produced such an inspirational individual," Jim Anderton said.
