NO FEARS ABOUT SAFETY! WHAT ARE THEY- NUTS OR SOMETHING?

“The revelation that Auckland Airport air traffic control tower was unmanned for a period of time yesterday comes as no surprise, said New Zealand First Leader Rt Hon Winston Peters today.

“With staff numbers cut to the bone, training of new staff subject to the availability of overseas trainers and senior management more concerned with chasing rainbows in the form of so called lucrative overseas contracts, than tending to their core business here in New Zealand, I am not at all surprised that such a serious situation has arisen, he said.

“The stupidity of saying that such a serious situation does not constitute a safety concern because planes were flying in differentareas, defies any understanding by a thinking person and serves to further convince me that this renegade State Owned Enterprise is totally out of control, leaderless and directionless, Mr Peters said.

“The lives of traveling public are at stake here, and such foolish and cavalier comments could serve to seriously undermine the confidence of tourists from seeking out New Zealand as a holiday destination with catastrophic implications for our fast growing tourist industry. I hope the Minister responsible is demanding a full explanation at this time and that if necessary, those responsible are held accountable for their actions, concluded Mr Peters.
