Armstrong Shows Further Contempt For TVNZ Staff
The latest comments from TVNZ Chairman Ross Armstrong demonstrate his lack of people skills, which is worrying in his position, ACT Broadcasting Spokesman MP Penny Webster said today.
"Mr Armstrong is doing nothing to placate furious staff, especially by saying that he expects more changes will meet editorial resistance.
"The Chairman says he has no need to continue justifying himself. He has no comprehension of the strength of feeling at TVNZ, and he is obviously geared up to create more clashes.
"Mr Armstrong's admission that he has not spoken to Paul Cutler or staff - and has no intention of doing so - highlights his sheer arrogance.
"I am appalled that Mr Armstrong has not expressed a single word of apology or regret.
"Within an organisation such as TVNZ, where the Charter promotes an 'impartial and indepth analysis of news and current affairs', this will not help.
"It is time Mr Armstrong was replaced by someone who will inspire employees, instead of publicly denigrating them," Penny Webster said.
