Farmers Losing Confidence And Patience

The Global Co concept is in danger of completely losing credibility, ACT Rural Affairs Spokesman Owen Jennings said today. Farmers are contacting ACT MP’s to tell us they are losing confidence in their own leadership.

"When is the farmers' vote going to finally take place? Dairy farmers are being kept in the dark. "Global Co executives themselves seem to have little idea of what is going on, and I find that astonishing. Let's look at the timeline of Global Co's official announcements so far:

December 21, 2000: The vote will be at the end of March, 2001 March 7, 2001: The vote will be in early May April 9, 2001: The vote will be in mid May 3 May, 2001: Nobody has a clue when the vote will be held

"Today, farmers are still waiting for that vote to take place. Global Co desperately needs to re-establish credibility. Global Co needs to tell the whole story of their research, warts and all. They need to admit that the two-company future was an option worth pursuing.

"Above all, they need to get their act together," Owen Jennings said.
