The Lion That Squeaks

“I am disgusted at the double standards being displayed in the health service under the current minister of health annette king”, said new zealand first leader rt hon winston peters.

“the payout of $25000 bonuses and huge increases to hospital bosses of the order of $16000 can not be justified at this time given the parlous state of health funding”,he said.

“what kind of a minister is she to sit back and allow taxpayers to be denied critically needed surgery on the grounds of lack of funding, when her senior managers have their snouts firmly in the trough up to their armpits with her blessing”? Mr peters has asked.

“this is the very same scenario we witnessed under the last government when we saw health service bosses grow fat on the funding which should have found its way to meeting the needs of those requiring remedial health attention”, he said.

This is the very same type of scandal which rocked aid agencies such as corso years ago when it was discovered that funds given, were being siphoned off by those at the top for their own enjoyment and pleasure and a let the poor eat dirt attitude prevailed.

I am sickened by the greed of those at the top of the health services in our country who continuously demand their own needs are satisfied before those to whom they are employed to serve.
Furthermore, the government is as guilty as those greedy recipients for having gifted them in this way!

This is a classic case of a minister and a government, which talks tough and acts weak, the veritable lion that’s squeaks”, concluded mr peters.
