Smoke-free Amendment Bill submissions

21 June 2001

Closing date for submissions to the Smoke-free Amendment Bill

The Health Select Committee decided yesterday not to set a further closing date for submissions to the Smoke-free Environments (Enhanced Protection) Amendment Bill until Supplementary Order Paper (SOP) No. 48 has been referred to the committee. The current closing date for submissions of 2 July 2001 has been rescinded, but in the meantime the committee will continue to accept submissions on the bill.

Chairperson Judy Keall said that the Health Select Committee wanted to make sure that submitters had plenty of time to make submissions to the SOP as well as to the amendment bill that was already before the committee.

“ When the SOP is referred to the Health Committee we will set a final date for submissions.”
