AUCKLAND ADVOCATE
WILL BE SORELY MISSED: PETERS
“Auckland has lost one of its more effective advocates, and New Zealand has lost a wonderful character,” said New Zealand First Leader Winston Peters.
“The passing of Phil Warren will not only be sorely felt by his family and friends. Phil has been a tireless worker for Auckland, often behind the scenes. His advocacy made good use of common sense and humour and as a result was often successful where others had failed.
“The effects of Phil’s contribution to local government and to the entertainment industry have been felt nation-wide. A most appropriate tribute would be the continuation of his work to provide Auckland with a realistic strategy for growth. One thing is for sure, he will be missed. Our thoughts go out to his family,” Mr Peters said.
