It is about time the Greens woke up to Asian policing issues, says National's Ethnic Affairs spokesperson Pansy Wong.

"If the Greens knew anything about this issue, they would know that Auckland police already have an Asian Responsiveness Strategic Plan. It was put together by Auckland Central Police, representatives of the Asian community, and myself.

"I hope this means the Greens, who have no Asian MPs or candidates yet, will support me in pressuring the Police Minister to implement this strategy.

"Unfortunately though I fear the Greens are simply jumping on another bandwagon they know little about. As with the issue of Maori sovereignty, the Greens have consistently shown they are more concerned with media headlines than actually achieving anything," said Ms Wong.
