ACT MPs Publish New Book
The ACT Party's nine MPs have jointly authored a new book called "Old Values, New Ideas".
"The book covers issues as diverse as the Kyoto treaty, the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, free trade, the Resource Management Act and Auckland's traffic problems," ACT leader Richard Prebble said.
""I don't believe any other caucus would publish a book, even if they had the skills to do so, because today's campaign managers advise MPs to stick to credit card slogan policies that are all poll-driven," Mr Prebble said.
"If MMP is to fulfil its potential to lift debate, then MPs must be willing to discuss issues in a substantive way.
"The book will be launched at a function in the Beehive on Wednesday, 27 March at 6pm.
"The book is a challenge to the Fourth Estate. Commentators complain that parties deal only in trivia, so it will be interesting to see how the media treats 86 pages of in-depth analysis," Mr Prebble said.
