ACT leader Richard Prebble said today he was a member of the Lange government Cabinet Security Committee.

"At no time did David Lange inform the Cabinet Security Committee of any fear he had that the American Vice President had threatened to have him liquidated," Mr Prebble said.

"Mr Lange did inform the committee of his discussions with the American Ambassador, with the US Defence Secretary George Schultz and all other significant talks, so it's incredible that he wouldn't mention a threat on his life.

"I believe the threat is all in Mr Lange's mind and I was the first to tell you about his mental condition," Mr Prebble said.
