Media Statement From Helen Clark

Helen Clark said today that putting her name to a painting that she didn’t do was an error of judgement she deeply regrets and for which she apologises.

Helen Clark said that at the time she was trying to be helpful to a charity. She said she always learns from her mistakes and will not be making this one again.

“Politicians are under a lot of pressure to be helpful to many good causes, and to my certain knowledge, I am far from being the only MP to have been assisted with a contribution of this kind. It should be a salutary lesson to all,” Helen Clark said.
