English Delighted By Announcement

National Party Leader Bill English says he is delighted by the announcement that the Governor of the Reserve Bank, Dr Don Brash is to stand for National in this year's election.

"National has already attracted some outstanding candidates and it says a great deal about the current strength of the party when such high calibre performers as Dr Brash are willing to put their names forward.

" Nationals serious plans for the future mean we will be seen as a real alternative to the Government who have no substantial policy. While National has attracted outstanding people like Dr Don Brash and Guy Salmon, Labour's candidates are looking tired already," says Mr English.
