Ministers Get Preliminary Briefing From Ernst And Young And MTS Board

Finance Minister Michael Cullen and Maori Affairs Minister Parekura Horomia were briefed today by Ernst and Young and the Maori Television Services Board on the legal and financial commitments entered into by MTS when John Davy was at the helm.

“Ernst and Young are putting out a press statement at midday tomorrow.

“We were encouraged by their preliminary conclusions,” the Ministers said.

“The question of where responsibility lay for running security and credit checks on senior management appointees will be dealt with in a second report to be delivered late next week.

“We will not be making any comment until we have received that report and considered its contents,” the Ministers said.
