Court Of Appeal Appointments Welcomed
The appointment of Justice Thomas Gault as president of the Court of Appeal will be welcomed by the legal profession, says National's Justice spokesman Wayne Mapp.
"Justice Gault is a distinguished judge and the natural successor to Sir Ivor Richardson. The longstanding tradition of appointing the most senior serving judge on the Court of Appeal is an important contribution to legal stability.
"The decision to appoint Justice Susan Glazebrook to the Court of Appeal is recognition of her outstanding legal ability. Justice Glazebrook's broad expertise, particularly in the area of tax matters, will prove invaluable in the deliberation of the wide range of issues that come before the Court," says Dr Mapp.
