Where's the Economic Plan, Prime Minister?

ACT Finance spokesman Rodney Hide today called on Prime Minister Helen Clark to detail her government's economic plan to take the country to four percent growth a year.

"The Prime Minister has said she wants four percent plus growth a year. What she hasn't said is how she intends to achieve it.

"The outlook for the economy is only two or so percent growth. That's simply not good enough.

"Commodity prices are sliding, the dollar is rising, interest rates are up, and Labour's health system is set to become a bottomless pit.

"The Prime Minister tells the country that she is leader. She now needs to lead on the economy and tell the country her economic programme for the next three years," Mr Hide said.
