NZ-Chinese conference organisers congratulated

Organisers of inaugural NZ-Chinese conference congratulated

National MP Pansy Wong has congratulated organisers of the inaugural New Zealand-Chinese women’s conference - Golden Raindrop Chinese TV.

“The organisers need to be congratulated for bringing together women from one of the earliest civilisations with a young country like ours whose women were the first to gain the right to vote.

The conference opens in Auckland this Sunday (November 17) and is on until Tuesday November 19.

"Rural issues, women's status, women in politics, abuse and prostitution are all topics that will be explored and debated during the conference. This demonstrates that there is much in common among women’s issues despite cultural and language differences,” Pansy Wong said.
"Dialogues between our women and women in China will foster closer relationships and understanding beyond economic consideration.
"This inaugural conference should lead to future co-operation for joint research and imitative for the benefit and status of women in the two countries,” Pansy Wong said.
