Awatere Huata Rejects Skipworth’s Claims

Donna Awatere Huata says Kathy Skipworth’s claims are “complete and utter lies.”

“I utterly reject the outrageous claims by convicted fraudster Kathy Skipworth as reported by the Dominion Post.”

Mrs Huata dismissed as “complete and utter lies” Mrs Skipworth’s claim that she handed over $30,000 of Pipi Foundation money to Mrs Huata on the side of the road. “I utterly reject Mrs Skipworth’s lies that Pipi funds paid for my surgical procedure to reduce my weight. I paid for that surgery myself, which I will prove in due course of the official investigations.”

Mrs Huata said the reporting by the Dominion Post was a vicious campaign to destroy her credibility. “The Dominion Post has found a willing partner in Mrs Skipworth who is both a pathological liar and a woman driven by personal vendetta.”

Mrs Huata said that she refuses to be tried and convicted by the media. “ I look forward to the completion of the official investigations so that I can clear my name once and for all.”

Mrs Huata said that, in addition to the more than $20,000 Mrs Skipworth has admitted taking from the Pipi Foundation, the Pipi Trustees have laid further complaints with the Police that Mrs Skipworth was defrauding the Trust of thousands of dollars the entire time she was the Pipi Foundation Chairman.
