'Law of the jungle' comments damage NZ interests

'Law of the jungle' comments damage NZ interests

Prime Minister Helen Clark is persisting to damage New Zealand's international interests with her latest outburst saying Britain and the United States have unleashed the "law of the jungle" on international relations, says National Leader Bill English.

"Helen Clark should have learned from her earlier comments about Al Gore and the subsequent Clayton's apology. Clearly she has not.

"Helen Clark is losing her capacity to judge our national interest and in a Prime Minister that is a fatal flaw. New Zealanders would be interested to know whether she made this comment to Tony Blair's face.

"Her comments betray her deeply felt commitments to interests other than those of New Zealand and our traditional friends and allies. She would do better for New Zealand if she kept her views to herself," Mr English said.
