Tamihere Outburst: The Raving Of A Bum Lawyer

The Rt Hon Winston Peters, leader of New Zealand First said this evening that Mr Tamihere’s allegation of electoral fraud against New Zealand First was the raving of a bum lawyer without a practising certificate.

The facts are that in 1996 a complaint was made by two disgruntled New Zealand First candidates. New Zealand First vigourously defended the charges and the District Court in Wellington struck the complaint out on the basis that there was not a shred of evidence to back it up.

Mr Tamihere is floundering around desperate to defend himself but as Al Jolson once said “You ain’t heard nothing yet”.
