Prime Minister and Health Minister celebrate PHOs

Prime Minister Helen Clark and Health Minister Annette King will visit the Newtown Union Health Service at 10.30am on Tuesday, July 1, to announce the latest developments in Primary Health Organisations (PHOs).

Ms Clark will also present Newtown Union Health Service with a Te Wana accreditation certificate. Newtown is the first primary health care provider in New Zealand to receive such an accreditation for the quality of its programmes.

Annette King says Newtown Union Health Service is a fitting venue for the announcement as it is one of the central organisations in Wellington’s recently established South East and City PHO, and because Newtown Union has been inspirational in consistently reaching out to people with the greatest needs.

Event: PHO announcement
When: 10.30am, Tuesday July 1, 2003
