United Future youth wing formed

United Future leader, Peter Dunne, today announced the formation of a youth wing for United Future New Zealand.

"This is an important milestone for the party," he said. "More than 10% of the voting population is aged between 18 and 25, and we believe United Future's message of pragmatic policies and family values appeals to many of those young people."

Acting chairman of United Future Youth, 21 year old Greg Henderson, agrees and says young voters often feel they are ignored by the major political parties.

"United Future realises young voters are the future of New Zealand and its tertiary and family policies are specifically targeted at meeting the present and future needs of New Zealand's younger generation."

Mr Henderson is president of the Students Association of the Wellington College of Education and is studying politics extramurally through Massey University.
