ACT New Zealand Associate Commerce spokesman Stephen Franks' message for Minister of Finance, Michael Cullen today was " Tell Air New Zealand not to sulk."

"As a Minister Dr Cullen must accept the Commerce Commission's confirmation of what every other expert has been warning - that the merger would be bad for New Zealanders as passengers.

"As a major shareholding Minister, he needs to tell Air New Zealand not to sulk.

"The Minister of Finance should now show some leadership with this Government owned business.

"Let the directors know the shareholder doesn't want time wasted on lawyers, economists and advisers appealing the decision. In particular tell them not to expect more taxpayer money," Mr Franks said. ENDS
