NZ First brochure not in the spirit of Christmas

NZ First brochure not in the spirit of Christmas

“New Zealand taxpayers have just funded a NZ First brochure to over half a million households that is definitely not in the seasonal spirit” said Progressive Deputy Leader Matt Robson MP.

“We have just come to the end of Eid-Ul-Fitr, the Muslim festival marking the end of the fast of Ramadan, which promotes tolerance and respect for all. Today is the start of the great Christian festival of Advent, leading up to Christmas which preaches the same message.

“It is a pity then that NZ First has breached this time of goodwill to all by launching a savage attack on Asian immigrants blaming them for “imported crime levels” and “Third World diseases such as tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS”.

“I hope that when the Speaker opens Parliament with the traditional prayer tomorrow that Mr Peters, an avowed supporter of the present prayer, and his members reflect on the words that request them to

. . . conduct the affairs of this House and of our country to the . . . public welfare, peace and tranquility of New Zealand, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen

“I am sure that the Progressive Party will be joined by all the other parties in Parliament in condemning this cynical and unseasonal attack on those who have emigrated to New Zealand in order to make their contribution to the development of this country”, said Matt Robson.
