School success defeats dopy debate

Ohariu-Belmont MP, Peter Dunne, says he won’t be attending tonight’s cannabis debate in the electorate between Progressive leader, Jim Anderton, and Green MP, Nandor Tanczos, ''because I’m more interested in celebrating the success of my constituents than in promoting the Greens’ anti-family, pro-drug policies''.

Mr Dunne will instead be at the Newlands Intermediate Trophy Presentation and Christmas concert, a long-standing appointment and an event he has attended for several years.

“Given the choice between seeing New Zealand parents and their children celebrating real achievements and listening to Mr Tanczos’s disjointed, befuddled ramblings in favour of widespread drug-taking, I choose the family everytime,” he said.

“I have every confidence that the voters of Ohariu-Belmont who choose to attend the drug debate will have the commonsense to see the Green pro-drug campaign for the irresponsible, family-destroying programme it is.

“Mr Tanczos constantly protests that he is really anti-drug. When he names his dealer, provides the police with the evidence of his regular cannabis-smoking and resigns from Parliament as being unfit to be a law-making, not law-breaking, MP, I’ll believe him,” said Mr Dunne.
