Wednesday, 4 February 2004, 10:45 am Press Release: ACT New Zealand
Prebble Backs Brash
ACT Leader Richard Prebble said
that it was refreshing that National has now got a strong
leader.
"The Westminster parliamentary convention is
that a party spokesperson should resign if they can't
support their parties policy. I've done it myself. Just
because Helen Clark can't control her Maori MPs is not a
reason for National to abandon the constitutional
convention.
"I predict that public confidence in Dr
Brash's ability to take tough decisions has just gone
up', said Mr Prebble.
