2004 Music Awards Broadcast Across New Zealand

Kiwi music fans will this year enjoy national television and radio coverage of the annual music awards.

The 2004 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards – to be presented in Auckland on September 22 – will be broadcast during prime-time on music channel C4.

In addition, there is to be comprehensive support from the CanWest stable of radio stations including Channel Z, The Edge, The Rock, and More FM.

Free-to-air C4 is to broadcast a one-hour prime-time special with another four subsequent plays on C4 as well as a repeat on sister channel TV3.

C4 and Channel Z will also both broadcast recorded pre-show specials, popping the questions to VIP guests and celebrities as they arrive for the awards show at Auckland’s Aotea Centre.

Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards spokesperson Adam Holt is singing the praises of the partnership deal.

“This is simply great for music fans nation-wide. Everyone knows how popular and diverse Kiwi music is now – and we have had good news coverage in the past – but dedicated national television and radio support is fantastic.

“C4 is going really well, so everyone involved is thrilled we’re able to take our “new look” awards to the whole country.”

The Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards are being held later this year to better align eligibility dates and so winners and nominated artists can benefit from the lead up to Christmas, the industry’s peak selling period.

The 2004 awards are for material released between January 1, 2003 and May 31, 2004.
