Come again mi selecta! GreenRoom:003 hits Earth

The Green Party and Loop Recordings continue their musical odyssey this Monday, September 13, with the release of ‘The Green Room 003: (Ear)th’ the third album in the successful concept that mixes music with the message.

Green Party Youth Affairs Spokesperson Nandor Tanczos said the collaboration is about breaking down barriers between politics, art and popular culture.

“My own social, cultural and spiritual development was strongly influenced by the music I listened to. The Green Room series is about spreading consciousness through music,” he said.

Unlike the first two Green Room productions, which showcased purely New Zealand music, the third instalment includes contributions from overseas bands, in-step with its theme - living in a global community.

“Far from being isolated at a corner of the world, New Zealand music is having a huge influence on the global stage -our homegrown music is being exported overseas and our artists have gained greatly deserved international recognition,” he said.

Several of the musicians featured on The Green Room 003: ‘(Ear)th’, such as Mighty Asterix, Tommy and Age Pryor are also involved in hands-on youth development work.

“Respect to the work they do, and the music they make,” said Nandor.

Most of the tracks are previously unreleased tracks by cutting edge New Zealand artists, such as Pitch Black, multi-platinum sellers like, The Black Seeds, and a host of international acts such as electro-soulsters, The Strike Boys from Germany.

The Green Room concept grew from the critically acclaimed weekly radio show of the same name, MCed by Loop’s Mikee Tucker, with the first album launched in 2002 and featuring a spoken word track from Nandor.
