‘Pink thinkers’ see red over United Future’s indexed tax plan

United Future MP Marc Alexander is pouring scorn on the Greens and the Progressive party for their opposition to United Future’s call for the government to give back part of its massive tax take to working New Zealanders.

“It is almost surreal how the rabid left have raised their opposition to allowing hardworking Kiwis to keep more of the fruits of their own labours,” he says.

“If there’s one thing that is guaranteed to unite the socialists of Parliament it is the possibility that people will actually get to keep more of what they work for.

“High and unfair taxes inhibit our entrepreneurial spirit to generate wealth, jobs and individual material freedom. The coalition against wealth of the anti-business Greens and the anything but Progressives trying to shore up their ‘invaluableness’ to the pinker shade of Labour simply want to replace the so-called greed of the successful with the greed of the government.

“What the Greens and the Progressives want is to undermine the right of people to work for themselves and substitute their own ideological nirvana based on what they think deserves reward rather than allowing people to vote with their choices and with their wallets.

“What these second-rate socialists conveniently forget is that my colleague Gordon Copeland’s plan to index tax rates against inflation is the very same argument that they advance on behalf of the unions when wanting pay increases.

“Now that United Future is pushing for exactly such a change, irrespective of whether you are an employer or employee, these socialist fascists don’t like the idea that the middleman of government is bypassed!

“As for the hugely untalented Matt Robson saying that United Future’s plan was a ‘timely warning’ to voters that we are aligned to National and ACT, nothing could be further from the truth.

“We are a timely warning that without us a future Labour government led by the Greens and the Progressives will turn pink into bright red. If that happened…then the red won’t be confined to the government but the pockets and wallets of all Kiwis who value work and reward!” says Mr Alexander.
