Maori '2000' - Private 2001?

"What's up with the 2000 school certificate mathematics examination?" wonders Libertarianz spokesman for the deregulation of education, Warrick Brown. "It is appalling," he says, "that yet another generation of New Zealanders must have Maori culture and language rammed down their throats by a politically correct state education curricula. Why on earth are maths candidates being asked to identify the Maori words for '2000'?" wonders Mr Brown.

He calls for the immediate removal of all state control and nannying interference from NZ's dumbed down education system. "It is imperative that the government desist from its ongoing attempts to indoctrinate the next generation of New Zealanders with its politically correct state-worshipping mumbo jumbo" says Brown. "Not only is the state intent on forcing Maori culture and language on the next generation, but they do so at the expense of basic education. Further, the government agent's NZQA seem singularly unable to provide acceptable quality control, with at least two mistakes in the questions for school certificate mathematics having been discovered after the fact."

"When one million New Zealanders are falling below the minimum literacy standards - including some maths examiners it seems - it becomes time to ask some serious questions," he says, "time to reflect that the state must be urgently removed from the New Zealand education system where it has no business to be. Continuation of state control and interference will only lead to lower literacy rates, to lower quality education and to racial resentment - and will produce a third world nation of braindead dependants. A privatised education system is urgently needed to remove the state's ability to compulsorily indoctrinate youngsters," says Brown, "and will provide parents and adult learners with real choice, real freedom - and quality education through the inevitable competition. State control of education has been a disaster - it's time for real freedom."

Gordon Campbell: On The US Opposition To Mortgage Interest Deductibility For Landlords

Should landlords be able to deduct the interest on the loans they take out to bankroll their property speculation?
