State Weatherman Regurgitates Luddite Propaganda

"Jim Salinger's political masters will be very pleased with his reiteration of the unproven and controversial global warming theory," said Libertarianz deputy leader Richard McGrath today. "I imagine Rod Donald and his pals on the socialist Left will be delighted to hear Jim trotting out the same government line on climate change that National Socialist acolyte Simon Upton is now peddling in Paris."

"There is strong evidence to suggest that solar activity - not human activity - is the dominant influence on global temperature fluctuations; further, there is equally strong evidence that a little warming and a rise in carbon dioxide levels is actually beneficial, not least for crop production, which feeds on carbon dioxide. The Luddites have never been unable to refute these findings, and they still continue to ignore satellite evidence indicating a slight cooling in lower atmosphere temperatures."

US 'global change' scientists receive $2.1 billion from govenrment every year, and don't want to give that up, despite the fact that not one of their global warming weather forecasts has ever been accurate. The Libertarianz deputy believes the term 'greenhouse effect' should in fact be reserved for the situation where these scientists and their duped politicians become trapped in a hot conference room without air conditioning. "Their brains begin to stew in the heat, after which they develop a shared delusion that the rest of the Earth is cooking too."

McGrath said the anti-industrial lobby want to limit the scope of human enterprise to a more primitive, agrarian level of subsistence living with vast tracts of land declared off-limits for development. "The absurd calls to throttle industrial civilisation by imposing quotas on the production of carbon dioxide and methane will have an enormous cost in jobs, quality of life, and individual freedom. My party firmly opposes any such quotas."
