WELLINGTON

On Friday, May 4, 2001 there was a press conference in Philadelphia by two of four of Mumia's new lawyers. They announced the following statements:

a.. Declaration by Mumia Abu Jamal where Mumia once again states he did not shoot or kill Police Officer Faulkner. He goes into more detail about the occurrences of that night. It clearly shows that Mumia was both the witness and the victim of a crime. Mumia is innocent. Free Mumia now.

b.. Declaration by Mumia's brother, William Cook, about the events of the evening. Like his brother, William Cook was also the witness and victim of a crime. William Cook is also innocent.

c.. Affidavit of Anthony R. Beverly. In this legal document, given in June 1999 and squashed by Len Weinglass, Mumia's former lawyer, Anthony Beverly, a hit man for the mob, confessed to killing Police Officer Daniel Faulkner under orders from the mob. This document has not been investigated by International Concerned Family & Friends of Mumia or Mumia's lawyers. Nonetheless, it is very important and newsworthy as there appears to be no motive to give a false confession. Check Mumia.org and FreeMumia.com
