Child, Youth And Family's New Directions Gets It Right For Frontline Workers
The PSA is delighted to see the
Government has at last committed to addressing pay issues
for social workers as part of Child, Youth and Family's New
Directions.
"New Directions picks up on many of the issues that the PSA has been raising over a number of years such as recruitment and retention of frontline workers" said Richard Wagstaff, PSA National Secretary.
"We also welcome the opportunity to participate in the New Directions External Reference Group. This is a practical demonstration of the PSA's Partnership for Quality Agreement with the Government", said PSA National Secretary, Richard Wagstaff.
The PSA is committed to working in partnership with the Government to modernise and improve the quality of public services. New Directions is a clear example of a Department committing itself to quality improvement.
"Overall New Directions provides opportunities to improve the pay and working environment for our members. This is an essential part of improving outcomes for children and families. As part of the External Reference Group, we look forward to helping ensure these aims are met" he concluded.
