PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release Transport

Stupidity Rules O.K.

The new law to curb so-called boy racers is "stupid, unnecessary, and fascist," says Libertarianz Transport Deregulation Spokesman Michael Murphy. "It is a typical knee-jerk reaction made by people who are not very bright."

Mr. Murphy went on to point out that there are ample laws under existing legislation to put paid to this problem - "if indeed there is a genuine problem, rather than just a media beat-up." It is already an offense to spill diesel anywhere - not just on a road; it is already an offense to exceed the speed limit, just as it is an offense to cause noise pollution by doing wheelies and having a noisy vehicle. Under existing legislation, the noisy vehicle can be impounded and held as evidence, not for twenty-eight days, but until the case comes to trial.

"The proposed new legislation," concludes Murphy, "is unnecessary and unintelligent – and, by that standard, not at all unusual. The more corrupt the state, the more it legislates."

It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz!
