Crackers Returns….and brings a friend

Crackers and Cocky At Canterbury Uni.

Yesterday Afternoon students from all across the Canterbury region joined together to cry foul at the current state of the Tertiary education system. What the gathering students did not know was that late Thursday night a secret call to the Chicken hotline was made by Student President Richard Neal. Crackers duly accepted the invitation and flew into Canterbury University early Friday afternoon.

Crackers, who during her short stay in Christchurch, has become somewhat of a Celebrity around Campus with the Students taking her under their wing. The Surprise news however was that Crackers was joined by a mate, another even larger chicken named Cocky. Through a translator Cocky stated that he was protesting to clear the bad name given to all Chickens by the actions of Deputy Prime Minister Jim Anderton.

“We wanted the Chickens present because except for the Alliance all of the Political Parties seem to be too Chicken to address the sorry state of the Tertiary Education system,” Said Mr Gourley, the Alliance Candidate for Wigram.

The chickens waved placards, danced to the music, and much to the delight of the 2000 students present, managed to ruffle the feathers of wanna be Prime Minister Bill English. The boxing Bill English was no match for Crackers and Cocky, with the students awarding the fight to the Chickens and the Alliance Tertiary policy.

“I think that this just goes to show that in and out of the ring Bill English is most at home in the feather-weight division and is not the political heavyweight he would like to be.” Said Mr Gourley

Crackers will make her next much anticipated appearance at the July 21st Wigram Candidates meeting. There Jim Anderton and his waka juming collegues will be the next target in Crackers’ life long pursuit to bring credibility back to politics.
