The New Zealand Parole Board today declined Bailey Junior Kurariki's application for home detention.
In its decision the Board said that it was not satisfied that Bailey Kurariki would not pose an undue risk to the safety of the community.
The Board took into regard the likelihood of further offending while on Home Detention, the likelihood of rehabilitation not being assisted by home detention, the nature of the offence and the views of victims.
The Board will see Bailey Kurariki in January 2004 for consideration of parole as required by the Parole Act 2002.
